People often ask how our clothes are made. We believe in being transparent, so here's the honest answer.
how it's made
Where Our Clothes Come From
The Cotton
Our cotton is grown in India, mostly in Tamil Nadu in the south. Local mills turn it into yarn, and then into the fabric. We don't use any imported yarn or fabric. Everything, from the cotton field to the finished shirt, happens in the same part of India.
Who Makes Them
We work with two small factories in Tirupur, India. One has about 15 people and the other has about 30. They do all the cutting, sewing, pressing and packing themselves, so we know exactly who is making our clothes. We talk with them directly.
Why Small Batches
We make our clothes in small amounts on purpose. Here's why.
Less waste. Clothing companies often make more than they can sell, and the extra ends up in landfills. Making smaller amounts means less goes to waste.
Better quality. When a factory makes a few hundred pieces instead of thousands, they have more time to do each one right and catch mistakes before they ship.
Support for small factories. Big factories only take big orders. Ordering in small amounts lets us work with small teams we know and trust, and grow together.
Safety Testing
An outside lab tests our clothes to make sure they meet US safety rules for kids. Every style also has a Children's Product Certificate (CPC). This is required for all kids' clothing sold in the US, and we take it seriously.
